All Box hub sets with an axle diameter of 15mm and larger are designed and manufactured using our oversized technology. For steering stiffness, we follow the load paths along the handlebars, through the stem, the headset, and finally to the fork-hub interface. To transfer much of that load from the fork to the axle, we shaped the dropout to better capture the now-oversized 20mm axle. These same fundamental principles apply to the rear for pedaling stiffness, where we also employ larger diameters to prevent axle flex. At both ends, the extra surface area requires larger bearings, and as a result, we have a significantly larger contact patch. You'll put more power to the ground at the rear, and up front, you'll feel more in control. When combined with Box's other oversized components, you'll experience increased responsiveness and reduced latency. Key differences: The Box One line adjusts material distribution to a higher level than the Box Two thanks to its CNC machining process. Aluminum can be removed more precisely from low-stress areas to reinforce junctions. The Box One's unique, hard, one-piece chromoly driver accepts various oversized axle diameters (10, 15, 20 mm) at the rear, while the front axle is set at 20 mm.
