BMX grips on sale: dropped colours and superseded compounds

Grips rarely fall in price for technical reasons. Usually the brand has reshaped its rubber pattern or pulled a shade from the team palette, and the remainder goes to clearance. Because a grip is a consumable that wears out over a season, this is the family where buying ahead makes the most sense.

Lock-on or slip-on, the choice to settle first

The checkpoint here is the fixing method. A lock-on grip is held by an aluminium collar and can be refitted as often as you like; a slip-on is bonded on and sacrificed when removed. Then check the length, roughly 125 to 160 mm, and the room your levers leave on the bar.

What is genuinely left

Clearance plays out colour by colour: three black pairs may sit next to a single red one. Look at whether bar ends are included — some end-of-line packs ship without plugs, while plugged bar ends are required to race.
