BMX stems on sale: outgoing model years and orphan colours
A stem goes to clearance when a brand changes machining generation or retires a finish. The body and the clamping are those of the current version; only the graphics or the anodising differ. On a part that does not wear out and moves from one bike to the next, the discount costs nothing in service life.
The three measurements to take
The checkpoint here comes down to three figures: steerer, bar clamp and length. The steerer is 1"1/8 on almost every BMX race fork. The bar clamp exists in 22.2 mm and 31.8 mm depending on your handlebar. The length, roughly 45 to 60 mm, directly changes how you sit over the gate.
Front load, top load and quantities
An end-of-line run often leaves a single length in a given type. Front load makes fitting and aligning the bar easier; top load lifts the bar height slightly. Add hardware if the original bolts are not part of the remaining lot.
