Headset
Our cheap BMX headsets gather kits in outgoing colours and end-of-line references, in integrated, semi-integrated and tapered versions, from Box Components, Tangent, Pride and Promax. Complete, brand-new sets, held in limited quantities for each finish we still list on this page.
A discounted headset is chosen on the frame's dimensions
It is an unremarkable part to buy and a blocking one to fit: no price makes up for a cup of the wrong diameter. The kits cleared here are new, dropped from a range because a colour changed or because a brand tightened its line-up. Each reference exists in small numbers only.
Integrated, semi-integrated, tapered: identify your head tube
Measure the inside of the head tube before ordering: 41.8 mm for an integrated 1"1/8, 51.8 mm for the lower section of a tapered frame, pressed cups for a semi-integrated one. The steerer of your forks has to follow the same logic, otherwise no amount of adjustment will take up the play.
What is in the kit, and stack height
Look at what the box actually contains: bearings, cups, compression ring, top cap and above all the compression bolt, which is sometimes sold separately on cleared packaging. Top cap height varies by a few millimetres from one model to the next and moves your bar by the same amount: plan your spacers accordingly.
